Important

Hello Everyone!

I’ve got some exciting news!

I know many of you are awaiting news of a publishing contract, and I apologize that we’re not quite ready for that to happen yet, but this is nearly as exciting and in my opinion even more important because it’s not about me, or my story, but about what the story has allowed me to do for others.

Through my years working within the disability community, I’ve amassed a large database of information on programs, goods and services for people with disabilities.

When I began writing Impact, which is a story that revolves around living life with a disability, I thought it might be enlightening for my readers to see some of the pieces of assistive technology my characters used in the story, because let’s face it, some of the AT out there is incredibly cool, allowing people with disabilities to live independently.

The Impact blogger was born.

During the course of the time the story posted on Fanfiction.net I blogged from time to time about current disability issues, dropped little crumbs of disability awareness, and shared information on historic events that I mentioned in the story. As I researched the story, I came across pieces of information that I thought were interesting and I added them to the database for eventual addition to the blogger.

When my mother’s condition began to worse, I found it difficult to manage day to day responsibilities, let alone the story or the blogger.

The summer of 2014 brought my commitment to bring the story to a more diverse audience of readers and while I’ve been editing Impact for publication, my totally awesome team has helped me pull the blogger together into an incredible site filled with information and resources.

So today, I’m unveiling for the first time ever, the Making an Impact, Resource Directory for People with Disabilities.

The address is still the same, but the site is completely different.

Please visit us at www.no-snickers.blogspot.com and please share with another who might benefit from it as well.

Thank you.

Update on Impact

I’d like to take a moment to thank everyone who has read and supported Impact through the exciting journey that began nearly five years ago. You’ve been so much more than readers, and have become so much more than friends.

The decision to remove Impact from the site where it’s been available since 2010 is a bittersweet one, but your words of encouragement have made me believe that Impact could be something more.

In order to offer Impact to a more mainstream audience, and to make it accessible to everyone in the future, I’ll be taking the time to edit it and make appropriate changes so that I can offer it to my readers as a work of original fiction.

I appreciate your understanding and your patience.

Updates on Impact’s progress, as well as any other pertinent information will be posted here.

The Impact blogspot is currently undergoing a facelift, but it will remain as an information and referral site for individuals with disabilities. It can be accessed at www.no-snickers.blogspot.com

Thank you for your comments, reviews and your words of support, but more importantly, I thank you for the precious investment of your time as you accompanied me on this journey. There aren’t enough words to express my gratitude.

Bests,

~nise
